Sermon Notes
Jesus Saw The Harvest
Matthew 9:36-38
35Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
As Jesus looked at the people, the Bible says that He had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. Today we see many who were like the people in Jesus day. The things that they have guided and steered their life by have failed to provide the answers that they so desperately need, leaving a vacuum as they search for the answers that they do not have.
I. The Harvest Is Plentiful - The Need Is Great (vs. 37)
II. The Workers Are Few (vs. 37)
III. We Need To Pray For Laborers (vs. 38)
