“Core Values”
What We Believe About Jesus
John 1:1-6
1In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God, and he was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3He created everything there is. Nothing exists that he didn’t make. 4Life itself was in him, and this life gives light to everyone. 5The light shines through the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. (NLT)
What we believe about:
I. Jesus’ Nature
a. He is fully God (John 1:1-16)
b. He was fully human (John 1:14)
II. Jesus’ Work & His importance
a. He came to show us God. (John 14:9)
b. He came to atone for sin. (Hebrews 9:28)
c. He serves as our mediator. (Hebrews 9:15)
d. He presently rules. (1 Corinthians 15:22-26)
III. Jesus’ resurrection and return
a. His resurrection shows us His sacrifice was accepted.
b. He has promised to return for us. (John 14:1-3)
