How To Know God’s Will For Your Life
11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. (NKJV)
I. God has a will for your life. (God’s Specific will)
a. 3 examples of God’s specific will for people in the Bible.
b. God has a plan for your life also, but He is waiting for you to seek it.
(Psalm 139:1-6, 13-18)
II. You can know what that will is.
a. Is it consistent with Biblical teaching? (2 Cor. 6:14-15)
b. What do mature Christian friends think? (Prov. 12:15)
c. Does the decision make good sense?
d. Have I prayed & asked God to reveal it to me? Ac12:1-7
e. How have the door opend or closed? (Colossians 4:2-4)
f. Do I have peace about the decision? (Colossians 3:15)
III. You can choose to accept or reject that will.
a. Choosing to obey God’s specific will for your life
enables you to move beyond God’s good to God’s best for you life.
b. Obedience to God’s specific will impacts God’s blessings
and opportunities for your life. Jer. 29:11-13
